Nebula Office is the free office software for Windows users.

Here we provide an overview of Nebula Office Writer which is compatible with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.  It is the perfect alternative to Word for all levels of users.

Writer

From word processing to desktop publishing, Nebula Writer has all the features you need to express your ideas and showcase your creativity.  Features include:

  • Full featured Word document editor.
  • Ability to create indexes and tables in documents.
  • A wide variety of document design options.
  • Desktop publishing for brochures and newsletters.
  • Ability to insert pictures of different formats.

Overview

Let’s take a look and get familiar with the Writer interface.

The Title Bar, Menu Bar, and Status Bar are fairly standard.  We invite you to explore these.

  • Tip: The Status Bar has a lot of useful information.  It also has functionality to save your document, toggle the view layout, and adjust the zoom slider.

Toolbars

There are 2 toolbars that are below the Title Bar.  These too are standard as you can:

  • Move them, float them, select different toolbars to be visible (use the View > Toolbars menu option).
  • Customize what tools are on the toolbar (View > Toolbars > Customize).

The Title Bar, Menu Bar, and Status Bar are fairly standard.  We invite you to explore these.

  • Tip: The Status Bar has a lot of useful information.  It also has functionality to save your document, toggle the view layout, and adjust the zoom slider.

Sidebar

One of the handiest features of Nebula Office Write is the easy access Sidebar.  From here you can access:

  • Properties: click the wrench icon and select any items in your document then make changes to Style, Character, and Paragraph.
  • Page Settings: click the paper icon and make changes to the file Format, Styles, Header, and Footer.
  • Styles: click the middle icon, select any item in your file and modify its style settings.
  • Gallery: click the colorful folders icon. Drag an item – symbols, shapes, backgrounds, even sounds – right on to your document.
  • Navigator: click the compass icon and click on the listed items to be easily taken to any place in your file.

All these functions and tools right where you need them.

  • Tip: Want to close the Sidebar? Just click the X at the top of the panel or you can click the same Sidebar icon that is currently in view.
